On behalf of the Greater New Orleans Foundation, I want to thank you for your immediate response to the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico . 

Proceeds from this fund will support work that helps the communities most affected by the oil spill in Plaquemines, St. Bernard, and lower Jefferson Parishes.  As for long-term recovery efforts, the Gulf Coast Oil Spill Fund will help strengthen coastal communities against future environmental catastrophes such as BP’s Horizon oil spill which occurred on April 20, 2010.
